And here we are 35 years later... I saw them on that tour ( 25th Anniversary of the Who and the 20th Anniversary of Tommy) Giants Stadium, July 3, 1989... PHENOMENAL SHOW!!!! They opened with a somewhat truncated version of Tommy, then they just played one classic after another with a few surprises mixed in.... Possibly the greatest concert I ever saw!

I think 'The Iron Man' might have been better if it were a double album. I liked the outtakes "Real World (Can You Really Dance)", and the extended version of "Man Machines" better than most tracks that made the final album.

You had me at ‘free buffet’

Didn't realise that The Amboy Dukes played the UK in 1968 and the embarrassmnet for The Who playing on the same bill as Ted Nigent.

Anthony Thompson great line up here.

Quite liked keith west.

bona-fide guests only. guessing there's a story behind that qualification.

Interesting...8 acts in 6 hours? Must've been 2 rooms surely?

Cheap at twice the price!

Original program with buffet ticket and show ticket

Review of the day

On Wednesday, May 3, 1961 John Entwistle performed at the Acton Schools Music Association Fourteenth Annual Music Festival.

A newspaper report in the Hammersmith & Shepards Bush Gazette reported: John Entwistle was the only soloist of the evening. He played the finale from the Horn Concerto No. 4, by Mozart. Its a popular horn solo which calls for nimble fingering. John could have given it a little more volume without any injustice to Mozart.

Perhaps this review had an impact on the young Mr. Entwistle. I suspect he was never accused of needing more volume when playing in The Who!

I would go just to see Pete perform -The Refuses No River -Pure and Easy -Tea And Theater

Empty glass is a great album, no bad tracks and I believe very underated🎶👌🖖🃏🦊🙏

Just an amazing and engaging performer (singer/songwriter)! Paul Schaffer did a great job, too - as always

To this day I never understood why Pete didn't tour more of his solo work so many great songs !

Gotta have the interview if its Pete ! 🙃An interesting and often funny man. I regret I never saw the Who when Keith was alive. Money was tight, I was young. But I definitely don't need any convincing on how potent they could be on the best nights.

Awesome performance!!

David was like "I like the old classics and all, Pete, but have you heard about these foo-fighters? Now THAT is rock n' roll for you..." 😎

I love how Pete revisits this song!

Never saw that before. Thank you for sharing. 👏👏

Like wow. That tone. rhythm and feel. Fincredible.

Thanks! Great to have you back

Great song

Thank's Dave

The Kids are alright!

OMG this is priceless, thank you!!
