YES!!!! (oh wait, they might be next year Smile

Kidding aside, it's kinda gonna be interesting what their setlist might be for the SuperBowl, as they only have 20 minutes (or less) to play 3 or 4 songs. to an international audience of hundreds of millions, and the Who's lyrical topics are not quite 'clean cut' as it were .... /laughs

Here are some guesses of what might go over well and what might not:

Baba O'Reilly - obviously a first choice ... as it is powerful, spellbinding, and relatively short. Baba would make a perfect opening or second song

Who Are You - would be perfect for such a large audience because of the 'give and take' between the band and audience which makes a Who performance so dynamic. However there is that little problem of the 'who the fuck are you?' line, which I consider to be an integral part of the song, it just wouldn't be the same without that lyric. Would they compromise the integrity of the song and change lyrics just for the SuperBowl? We shall see Wink

Behind Blue Eyes - most definitely they'll play this. It's theme about being hurt and lashing out in anger aside, BBE enjoys a wide popularity amongst the general public because it's simply just a great song.

Substitute - another good powerful tune. Would work well in a Football genre where 'substitution of players' is a part of the game.

Won't Get Fooled Again - everybody loves this one and it would go over well, but for a short set of this type it is way too long. They could cut it back a bit by losing much of the middle, but then again - would they compromise the integrity of a song just for this one event?

See Me, Feel Me - obviously perfect ending tune. Could be too long but because of the repeating coda they could cut it shorter without compromising it's integrity ... as they sometimes did in concerts.

Love, Reign 'oer Me - signature Roger tune, would go over well, but again way too long for such a short set. Cannot be compromised to make shorter.

Some that they absolutely will NOT play:

Doctor Jimmy - yeah, right! /grin

Pictures of Lily - and you thought Janet Jackson's 'wardrobe malfunction' was racy? /laughs

Tattoo - since I mentioned taboo already, this would be tattoo taboo ....

Uncle Ernie - ummmm, don't think so ... the NFL would have a fit and the Who would never again be invited back! /lol

Please feel free to add your own guesses as to the Who's SuperBowl setlist

Prediction of set:
Generation
Baba
Pinball>Listening

My set request for Roger and Pete:
However Much I Booze
Naked Eye
Long Live Rock

OR just play a 12 minute version of Magic Bus and blow some little hip-hoppers minds!!!

I nailed Springsteen's set last year.

Good choices ... I didn't think of Generation, and it would be a goodie opener too ... easily can be cut to a quick rendition with all the important verses included, then segue into Baba and Pinball then Listening (SMFM)

Your setlist covers all of the major Who tunes that even non-fans probably know, and can easily clock into the time allotment (about 15 minutes) with some trimming that doesn't compromise any of the songs integrity.

Hahahahaa .. don't count on "Booze" or "Naked", but "Long Live Rock" is a possibility, although it would have to replace either Generation or Pinball in your setlist ... not improbable, but probably unlikely

Maybe you'll hit the Exacta this year, ehhhh? Very Happy

Otherwise, it just wouldn't be a Who show without someone yelling out "GET ON WITH IT!" ... most likely this time it'll be the NFL telecast director yelling it when The Who launch into a 17 minute version of My Generation!!!
