Keith Moon’s Drumkits

About this page

A set-by-set overview of the drums that Keith Moon used on stage from 1965 to 1978. This information was originally based on an article published in Drums & Drumming in 1989, but has been expanded, corrected and updated through contributions from Whotabs’ generous readers. It will continue to be updated as additional contributions and corrections are submitted.

Welcome to the next evolution of the Keith’s drumkits pages in the Whotabs Gear section. Now, similar to the John Entwistle gear pages of Whotabs Gear, the drumkit information is now divided into “eras” for particular kits, rather than the heavy single page load. You’ll also find a work-in-progress page on Kenney Jones’s drumkits from his time with The Who. And a work-in-progress page on Zak Starkey’s drumkits from his time with The Who.

So, to get started, choose an era from the menu, below. Enjoy. And, as always, these pages are under constant revision — and rely on you to provide clarifications and corrections. So, if you’ve got an addition or correction, please contact Whotabs.
